An LLC in Maine is a formal structure that protects your home, car, and bank account in case your business is sued.

An LLC can be used to run a business or hold assets like real estate, cars, boats, or planes.

It’s easy to set up an LLC in Maine. Search the state database for your Maine LLC’s name and choose your Maine Registered Agent.

Send the Secretary of State your Maine Certificate of Formation. And wait for your LLC to be accepted.

You can wait to file your LLC online, so you have to send it in by mail. The fee for filing with the state is $175, and acceptance takes between 10 and 15 working days. (plus, the time it takes for the mail to arrive) unless you pay an extra $50 or $100 for faster processing.

After your  LLC is accepted, finish your Maine LLC Operating Agreement and get your Maine EIN Number (also called an EIN) from the IRS. Next, you need to determine if your LLC needs a Maine Business Licence or any other permits.

To keep your  LLC in good standing, you must file a yearly  LLC Annual Report. This report is due on June 1st. The fee is $85 to point. And every year, your small business needs to pay any due  LLC taxes. We suggest getting help from an expert.
